OPay has launched a campaign designed to promote the use of its security features and encourage safer digital transactions among users. The initiative, called the My OPay Security Vote Challenge, began in August and is gaining attention as part of the company’s efforts to enhance financial security in Nigeria’s digital economy.
The campaign invites participants to create a 30-second video highlighting their preferred OPay security feature and explaining its role in safeguarding transactions. Entries must include the official hashtag #MyOPaySecurityVoteChallenge and tag OPay’s verified social media accounts.
OPay’s security features include Scam Alert, Night Guard, Large Transaction Shield, Online Subscription Control, USSD Lock, Large Transaction Double Check, and Emergency Lock.
According to Elizabeth Wang, Chief Commercial Officer at OPay, the challenge is aimed at increasing awareness of these tools. She noted that the campaign seeks to make digital security more engaging while encouraging customers to use the features regularly.
Alongside the social media campaign, OPay is conducting community outreach programmes and leveraging its mobile app ecosystem to provide updates and create interactive engagement opportunities.
The initiative will reward more than 2,000 participants during its run, with weekly prizes totaling over ₦10 million and OPay-branded merchandise.
OPay stated that the campaign aligns with its objective of improving user security awareness and reducing fraud risks, thereby contributing to a safer and more resilient digital payment environment in Nigeria.
