Lafarge Africa Plc has rolled out a new brand campaign titled Beyond Buildings, aimed at highlighting the company’s extensive contributions to Nigeria’s infrastructure growth and socio-economic development over the past six decades.

The campaign was unveiled on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Lagos by the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi.

Speaking at the launch, Alade-Akinyemi said the initiative illustrates how Lafarge’s wide range of building solutions—including cement, mortar, plaster of Paris, and ready-mix concrete—has helped power some of Nigeria’s most iconic projects.

“For over sixty years, beyond manufacturing building solutions, we have played a key role in shaping Nigeria’s infrastructure and its future,” he said. “Our innovative products can be seen in the nation’s landmarks—from bridges and hospitals to stadiums, roads and major public structures.”

He noted that the campaign encapsulates the company’s journey since 1960, when its first plant commenced operations, and aligns with its commitment to innovation, operational excellence and environmental sustainability. Beyond Buildings, he added, shifts attention from the company’s products to the broader impact of its work on communities, employment and national development.

“The campaign showcases how our materials become part of national heritage and how our operations sustain livelihoods across Nigeria,” he said.

Lafarge Africa’s Commercial Director, Gbenga Onimowo, said the premiere created an opportunity to clearly communicate the purpose of the initiative. He stressed that the campaign reinforces Lafarge’s central role in Nigeria’s construction story from independence to the present.

“Our contribution goes far beyond cement or ready-mix concrete. It reflects the shared future and national progress we support,” Onimowo said.

He highlighted some of the company’s landmark contributions, including the National Theatre, First and Second Niger Bridges, Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki–Ikoyi Link Bridge, the National Assembly Complex, alongside numerous residential, commercial and educational developments nationwide.

The unveiling event brought together stakeholders from construction, arts, culture, media and business, as well as prominent customers. Nollywood icons Richard Mofe-Damijo and Kate Henshaw were among the notable personalities in attendance.
